Located at 2 Ipswich street Grandchester (formally Bigges Camp) – the terminus for the first Government Railway in Queensland is midway between the Rural Townships of Rosewood and Laidley.

Grandchester is also home of the heritage-listed Grandchester Railway Station, opened on 31st July 1865, this is the oldest surviving railway station in Queensland.
