Our next running day is fast approaching, and it’s a special one. On 4th August, we are celebrating our 26th birthday!

We’ve completed some work in the past few months that has made our track safer for passengers and drivers. Our feeder track to and from the steaming bay now has a dedicated set of points and signals, so that drivers no longer reverse into oncoming traffic – instead they reverse into a passing loop and then merge into the main line. We’ve been planning this addition for some time and are very happy to have it completed just in time for our birthday weekend.

And for those who like railway history, we have restored and recommissioned two more historic semaphore signal towers, which now adorn our track along with the original Grandchester main line signal gantry that was restored last year. Have a look at the photos below for a taste.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you on our running day. As always, we will be running from 10am to 2pm. All riders require fully enclosed footwear, and please note that we are cash-only, there are no Eftpos facilities on site. See you on the 4th!
